Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She later worked as morning news anchor and crime reporter at WCBD-TV. O'Dell's stories in Charleston about the police's leniency when it comes to DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to state authorities issuing more strict guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell's work in Charleston has led to her serving as co-anchor and investigative reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before joining Access Hollywood she was a anchor on the weekdays and was also the NBC weekend co-anchor. Alongside her work as a lead anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also an anchor for NBC News' Today and as well to Dateline NBC. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals to The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Co-hosted the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
